Instructor: Michelle Henderson, Seams Like Quilting
When was the last time you were sitting at a kid’s basketball game, hands itching to be working on your latest quilt project? Hand stitching projects are fantastic for traveling time, tv time, and waiting in the school pick-up line time, and English Paper Piecing is a great foundational technique that will open the door to all kinds of amazing patterns and projects for you!
Join us May 18, 9-12 as we slow stitch away the morning and start one of the most addictive quilting habits of all! All fabric and specialty notions, including EPP templates, are included.
Please bring your scissors and basic hand sewing supplies. Shared irons and ironing boards will be available.
Class limit: 6
What is a Skill Building Class?
At Seams Like Quilting, we want your only limit to be your imagination!
As a set of skills, quilting is much like cooking. We can work from a recipe (pattern) and often do. But once in awhile, dinner just needs to get on the table. So we rely on foundational skills, dig around in the pantry, and bring something together. Knowing how to cook is about more than following a recipe. And knowing how to quilt is the same. Often, we avoid patterns we like because they use techniques we’re uncomfortable with. Our skill building class series is about introducing those techniques. We never know what our next favorite skill will be!!
Skills Used/Learned in this class:
Fussy cutting
Hand basting
Glue basting
Hand piecing, English paper style
We welcome you to our classes!
Classes run with a minimum of 3 people and a maximum of 6. Bring your machine, rotary cutter, mat, and basic notions to class. No refunds are given unless is cancelled by the shop. Communication of class status will be via email.
