Spooner truly comes alive in July and August. From lush green forests and meadows to our bustling downtown where the streets are lined with specialty retail shops, art galleries and more, Spooner is a vacationland for everyone!

Spooner's outstanding northwestern Wisconsin Northwoods location offers visitors jaw dropping views of a variety of incredible landscapes with many different ways to enjoy them.

Right in Spooner's backyard winds the Namekagon River, also known as Wisconsin's Moving National Park, a 99.5-mile river that is part of the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway. There are many exciting ways to enjoy the river this summer. Visitors from near and far come in groups to float in tubes down the calm section of river because no one can really say no to a gorgeous lazy river winding through the picturesque Northwoods landscape. Some prefer to paddle a bit further on canoes and kayaks offering travelers more opportunities to spot wildlife in its natural habitat and try your hand at fishing. When, I mean if, you fall in love with your surroundings pull your vessel ashore to stay at one of the primitive campsites available along the way and truly immerse yourself in nature for the night.

You don't have to venture outside to be left awestruck in Spooner. Voted Best of WashCo: Best Shopping Experience 2022, Downtown Spooner has something for everyone and is bursting with creativity! Stop in one of our local art galleries like the Purple Pelican, or Arts in Hand, and pick out a unique piece of art to bring home created by local artisans. Spooner's streets are absolutely busting at the seams with charming specialty retail stores offering baked goods, home furnishings, live plants and succulents, boutique clothing, books, board games, jewelry, sporting goods, and everything in between! After all that shopping  you'll need to refuel. Head into one of our local coffee shops or Washburn County's only craft brewery, Round Man Brewing Co., and treat yourself to a well-deserved beverage and delicious meal of your choice.

No matter what type of fun and excitement you are looking for this summer one this is absolutely certain, you will find it everywhere you turn in Spooner!
